A team of resilience and care

In 2020, Paragon Dorset was awarded a contract to carry on supporting those experiencing domestic abuse. It was an incredibly unprecedented time. But the team adapted quickly to the extraordinary challenges brought on by COVID and its subsequent lockdowns. In April, we were delighted that Dorset Council renewed our contract to continue to offer domestic abuse support to the county.

From day one, our incredible Dorset team showed remarkable resilience. Doing so by embracing a virtual model to ensure that support and care could continue safely. During this time, they worked with an astounding 17,000 individuals, always staying true to the Domestic Abuse (DA) Act and adapting to changing funding needs.

As we head into a new contract, we want to thank everyone who worked so hard to make a difference.

We also want to thank the countless local businesses who have supported us by donating essential items to our refuges. Donations, like recent Easter Eggs have a huge, positive impact on the mental health of not only the people we work with, but on our teams!

Tonia Redvers, Director of Operations & Business Development, shared her heartfelt gratitude for the team.

As one contract ends and another begins, I couldn’t be prouder of our amazing team. Your hard work and dedication truly make a difference every day, and this achievement reflects the deep impact we’ve had together in our communities. You are incredible—thank you!

Tonia Redvers

Director of Operations & Business Development, Paragon

Even as our staff evolved, we remained committed to providing seamless support. Achieving LeadingLights reaccreditation with SafeLives was a proud moment for all of us, reaffirming the quality of our work and the care we provide.

But beyond awards, the real highlight has been the connections we’ve made. Whether it’s training magistrates, hosting inspiring events, or supporting nearly 4,000 children in schools through our  Dragonfly Workshops.

As we look to the future, we’re filled with hope and determination. We look forward to five more years of supporting our community. Working together to build a safer, fairer and more equal society is one of our main goals. And we hope you will continue to support us in this aim.
