Venafi volunteers upgrade garden

Venafi volunteers spent a day upgrading our North Dorset refuge, braving the summer heat!

In 2023 we were fortunate enough to have volunteers visit our Isle of Wight refuge. The work they did in the garden was so well received they decided to do the same this year. With that in mind, a team of four from Venafi visited our North Dorset refuge to give the garden a very well-needed makeover. They endured a very hot day clearing weeds, sweeping, assembling furniture and re painting. They also brought with them a bunch of toys for the kids to play with! The staff and clients also got involved!

The children knew they were coming and baked cakes for the team. They also made lovely thank you notes to hand out. Needless to say, they were absolutely delighted to see the finished garden and new toys when they returned home from school. Many hours of outdoor fun will be had!

Many thanks

We want to say a huge thank you to the Venafi team for once again showing your commitment to the local community. It’s actions like this that help those who are most vulnerable in society. A safe place for children to play is a welcome distraction and a healthy activity.

PARAGON is a service that is committed to ending violence against adults and children. We do this through various methods. Those might be through counselling, safeguarding, or by offering a refuge (safe house) for families to move to.

We try to make those who seek shelter as comfortable as possible. We offer safe accommodation, food, and other basic supplies for those who come to us. But we’re often not able to afford things like beautiful garden spaces where families can spend time recuperating. Which is why we’re so grateful to Venafi for helping us out!
