Day trips for happiness

Day trips are an important part of mental health. Just getting out of the house can have a positive impact on the way we live.

Refuges offer a space for victims of domestic abuse to recover and plan their futures. But it often also means that getting out and about is difficult due to lack of financial stability. Which is why grants are so important.

As a result of the funding, a mum we are supporting has recently had a fun day out with her daughter.

She had this to say about a day out with her child.

The day out has been invaluable; it’s enabled us to be able to go out and do things I just would not have been able to afford in this current climate. The day out has had such a positive impact on our relationship. It’s helped me to also be a “fun” parent instead of being the boring one that has to use free resources for us all the time. It’s been money well spent and we are both extremely grateful for the funding we’ve received.

We would like to say thank you to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council who recently awarded PARAGON Hampshire a grant of £5,000. This is to support survivors of domestic abuse living in the Basingstoke and Deane Borough. The grant means that families living in and around the Basingstoke area are able to engage with activities in their community.
